How to Sign in Gmail Without Phone Verification

If you don’t have access to your phone, there are a few options to sign in to Gmail without phone verification. The hitch is that most of them must be set up ahead of time.
Let’s look at the options that might be used for alternative verification methods to help you sign in to Gmail Without Phone Verification.

Account verification options

Use your Security Key

All you have to do with a hardware security key like a YubiKey is plug it into a USB port and click a button to authenticate you are who you say you are.
This only works if you’ve already set up your YubiKey with your account and have it on hand. Although I’ve allocated a YubiKey to my account, the most typical circumstance I encounter does not have it with me.

Get a one-time security code

You can check in to your account on one device using a hardware security key and then use that device to acquire a code to sign in to another.
This scenario implies you can’t sign in with your security key on your device. Maybe the USB ports are faulty, or you forgot your home key. You can use your ability to sign in to one location to confirm the other by utilizing a separate device (and possibly a trusted family member at home).

Confirm on your phone or tablet

If you’re logged in to Google on a mobile device or tablet, Google might send you a message to ask you to confirm your sign-in on that device.
This, of course, only works if you’re logged in on another device and can react to the confirmation request.

Use your phone or tablet to get a security code (even if it’s  offline)

This one took me by surprise. I believe this is only for Android devices. However, if you’re logged into the same account on both, you’ll get instructions to get a login code from one of them.

Next, your device presents the codes you can use to confirm your identity.

This works even if that mobile device is not connected to the internet it will be a lifesaver, especially when traveling.

Get a verification code from the Google Authenticator app.

This also doesn’t need mobile device connectivity, but it does necessitate setting up two-factor authentication using the Google Authenticator app beforehand. Authy and other similar applications also function.
You just put in the presently displayed code for your account on the device running the authenticator app (which may even be the PC on which you’re attempting to sign in if it’s running the desktop version of Authy).

Get a verification code at an email address

A code will be sent to one of your recovery email addresses by Google. Your ability to supply that code verifies that you are who you claim you are — or at the very least, that you set up the recovery email addresses — and that you should be granted access to the account.
Email addresses aren’t always included in the list of options (they’re not present above, for example).
It’s worth noting that your account might have many recovery email addresses linked with it. Four are shown in this example. You may have the code delivered to others if you lose access to one.

Get a verification code via mobile phone.

This is the issue that has brought us to this point. Google will send a code to your registered mobile phone number.
It’s worth noting that your account might have many phone numbers linked with it. You may have the code transferred to the other if you lose access to one.

Enter one of your 8-digit backup codes.

With two-factor authentication, you will have Google generate and display a set of backup codes for you to use in an emergency at any time you’re logged in to your account.
Each can be used once – either in place of your second factor or when you need to provide Google more security assurance that you are who you claim you are.
If you use two-factor authentication, I highly advise getting and saving backup codes in a secure location.
If the added protection provided by two-factor authentication isn’t enough to persuade you, it’s almost worth turning it on just to have these codes on hand in case you need them.

Get help

Google warns that this process can take several days. What they don’t say is that it may not work. The procedure encourages you to use some of the choices we’ve already mentioned as quicker methods to access your account.
If those don’t work, Google will ask you questions and responses. Answer the questions as clearly and entirely as you possibly can.
If you’ve supplied enough information, you’ll soon be able to log into your account and reset your password.

You’re out of luck if you haven’t given Google enough information to establish you’re the rightful account owner. This is a regular occurrence.

If everything fails

Suppose none of the Sign in Gmail Without Phone Verification methods work for you. If that’s the case, I’m afraid there’s no way to get back into your account. It’s no longer your account. I often stress enabling two-factor authentication before you need it, so you don’t end yourself in a position like this.
