About Us – Seminole Electric Cooperative is one of the largest generation and transmission (G&T) cooperatives in the country. Seminole provides reliable, competitively-priced, wholesale electric power to its nine Member distribution electric cooperatives. Seminole’s primary resources include the Seminole Generating Station (SGS) in northeast Florida and the Richard J. Midulla Generating Station (MGS) in south central Florida. Approximately 1.9 million people and businesses in parts of 42 Florida counties rely on Seminole’s Member cooperatives for electricity.
Services – Consisting of two 638-megawatt coal-fired generating units, the Seminole Generating Station began commercial operation in 1984 and is located on 2,000 acres in Putnam County, just north of Palatka and about 60 miles south of Jacksonville.The Midulla Generating Station (MGS), located on the Hardee/Polk County line, is an 870-megawatt facility that uses natural gas as its primary fuel. The combined-cycle facility consists of two natural gas-fired combustion turbines, two heat recovery steam generators, and one steam turbine.

5. Talquin Electric
About Us – Talquin Electric Cooperative, Inc. was formed in June of 1940 by a group of 200 rural residents who banded together to form the electric cooperative. They organized at a special meeting in Quincy called by Gadsden County Agent, H. E. Hudson, and Home Demonstration Agent, Miss Elise Laffitte. They were assisted by REA Financial Advisor, Harold Clark, who explained the procedures for organizing and funding a cooperative.
